This Special Edition of our Chianti Classico brings together the essence of inGamba with the voice of one of the most influential figures in modern cycling media. Hosted alongside David Arthur, the creator behind Just Ride Bikes and YouTube’s largest independent cycling channel, this trip is a shared exploration of why Tuscany — and cycling itself — continues to captivate us.
Chianti is where inGamba began. Long before the service course existed, our founder João Correia sat outside the café that now looks onto it, imagining how to share this corner of Tuscany with cyclists who value more than just performance. He believed that Tuscany’s rare blend of riding, cuisine, and culture deserved to be experienced slowly and deeply. That belief became inGamba, and Chianti remains its most authentic expression of Mangia, Beve, Bici.
Riding in Chianti is quietly spectacular. The landscape rolls endlessly through vineyards and olive groves, with ribbons of flawless tarmac linking historic villages, testing climbs, and flowing descents. Hours can pass with barely another road user in sight, and when you do meet someone, the welcome is genuine. It’s riding that encourages conversation, curiosity, and appreciation rather than urgency.
Throughout the week, David Arthur rides, explores, and shares the experience with the group, bringing the perspective of someone who has traveled the cycling world in search of the stories, places, and people that make the sport meaningful. His approach mirrors our own: ride with intent, eat well, ask questions, and connect with the culture that surrounds the road. Together, we introduce you to local artisans, winemakers, and culinary masters, offering a deeper understanding of Chianti beyond the bike.
This is more than a hosted cycling trip. It’s an immersion into a place, guided by local knowledge, thoughtful support, and the shared curiosity of riders who care about the why as much as the how. You may hear the sweet, sweet notes wafting towards your window at Borgolecchi, as our resident aristocrat practices his new found love of the clarinet. We’re never quite sure if all of his stories are based on reality, but they are without a doubt highly entertaining. Probably the greatest tale Giorgio is prone to tell you is that he’s not really a cyclist. This yarn is not to be believed.
Giorgio is a supportive presence, encouraging you during challenging climbs and even joining you in races if you’re up for it. His philosophy revolves around embracing life to the fullest and seizing every moment. In Giorgio’s words, “I’m sure other good companies around offer great trips. But we’re specifically trying to give our guests the closest experience of what it means to be in a pro team, at any speed.”

The Service Course is where our mechanics and soigneurs perform their magic.
With years of experience in the professional peloton, they are dedicated to ensuring that your Pinarello is prepared exclusively for you. If you have traveled with us before, you know first-hand how amazing their attention to detail is. At inGamba, five mechanics work meticulously and calmly to tune and adjust our fleet of Pinarello Dogma F’s. They fine-tune saddle heights, clean the bikes, and make necessary last-minute adjustments every day.
Similarly, the soigneurs are like wizards, using their experience as professional riders to attend to your needs and prepare you for each day’s challenges. From filling bottles to preparing ride food, they ensure you are well taken care of, providing massages to ease sore muscles and preparing you for the ride ahead.
