What is the deposit, and when is the balance due?

The deposit for our public trips is $2,500 per person and is non-refundable. The balance for all trip fees is automatically charged to your card 90 days before the start of your trip.

How do I choose the right trip?

There is no one trip that we can recommend for everyone. We offer trips in Portugal, France, Spain, Italy and California.  If you have questions after reviewing reading about our destinations and the individual trip detail pages, feel free to reach out to, as we are always available to talk about Mangia, Beve and Bici in regards to inGamba.

How far in advance should I book?

We launch our calendar to our previous clients before we make them public and some of our trips get close to selling out out early. We recommend you book early. Having said this, if you find yourself with a small window of opportunity, feel free to hit us up and we will try and find a spot for you.

How do I contact you to ask questions about a trip?

Please email us at or call us at 888.316.9197. We are based in the San Francisco Bay Area and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

If I book a trip, is there a guarantee that it will run?

We have never cancelled a trip due to low numbers. However, there is no guarantee of this in the future. If a trip is cancelled by us we will give you a full credit which can be applied to any other trip within 2 years, plus an additional $250 to help you with changing any flights you may have already booked.

What if I have to cancel my trip?

Life happens and we understand that plans can change.  Should you need to cancel your trip, please call us and we will be as accommodating as possible. Some of our trips have wait lists, so with enough notice we can generally fill your spot.

That said, our lawyer did tell us to have an official cancellation policy. Here it is:

The initial deposit is non-refundable. Balances are subject to the following cancellation policy: 50% refund if canceled at least 60 days prior to the trip. For cancellations made between 60 and 45 days prior to the departure, a credit minus your initial deposit will be issued towards a future trip within two years. For cancellations made within fewer than 45 days of departure, no credit can be applied.

What does double occupancy mean?

Unless you request to have a room to yourself (single supplement) we will pair you with another traveler of the same gender.

Do you offer a single room supplement?

We do and if you would like the privacy of a private room throughout your trip please select this upgrade option at checkout.

Do you offer add-on packages before or after the trip?

Yes. We offer a pre-trip early arrival package that includes 2 nights lodging and a half-day guided city tour. Please contact us for more information.

Do you do private or custom trips?

We have created custom trips for many of our clients. Some of these custom trips have been similar to our standard trips with a private group booking out an entire trip on our calendar. We have also done special trips for families with children, or special interest groups. The possibilities are almost limitless, so please reach out to us for more information.

Can I make a group booking?

Yes, but it will require some guidance from us if you are wanting to make a group booking for a public trip through our online system. Please contact us for assistance.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes. And no. Although we cannot insist on it to travel with us, we do highly recommend that you purchase travel insurance for your own peace of mind. The link and Travel Agent ID number for our travel insurance partner Allianz will be provided during the booking process.

Can you help with travel arrangements?

We suggest a few specific airlines to travel based on our experience, but we cannot make flight bookings or hotel reservations before or after your trip.

Where and when will you pick me up when I arrive?

The trip itinerary with pick up and drop off information will be sent to you when you place your deposit, or early by request. This lists all the important details that you will need to make your travel arrangements.

How many guests are on a trip and on rides?

We limit most trips to 12 guests and frequently have 8-10 per trip.

What does Randonnée mean?

A Randonée is a trip that moves throughout the week. On these trips you will see a variety of terrain and get a broad overview of an area.

Should I tip your staff?

Many of our guests ask if gratuities for the staff are appropriate. We suggest that if you feel like the staff has gone above and beyond to give you the best experience possible then that work should be recognized. Generally most of our guests find that 5-10% of the cost of the trip is an appropriate amount. All gratuities are split evenly between the staff like a professional race team splits a winning prize purse. It is frequently the people who are never in the spotlight who make each week a success.

What do I need to bring to ride?

We have everything you will need in case your luggage gets lost during the flight, but we recommend you bring your own shoes, pedals, and saddle. Many guests also bring their own helmet, although we have the new Giro Synthe MIPS if you would like to use one of those.

What do I need to pack?

Casual clothing including jeans, khakis, T-shirts and a scarf are appropriate for all restaurants. There is usually one evening we recommend a collared shirt and jacket for men; and for women a skirt, dress or dress pants. Casual shoes and sneakers or trail-shoes for walks in vineyards or around town are recommended. A sweater or light jacket is recommended for evenings. A swimsuit for swimming should the occasion arise.

Are there non-riding activities?

Non-riding activities vary for each trip depending primarily on the location. Some activities include guided city tours, cooking, ceramics or painting classes, guided hikes or walks, river boat tours, special spa visits, wine tasting and many more.

How fit do I need to be for the trip?

This is always the first concern people raise. inGamba trips are geared to cyclists. Please be comfortable riding in a small group with other riders and using clipless pedals. If you are out on your bike a couple times a week, then you will do fine and have a great time. Some of our guests feel like they get the most out of their vacation with a little bit of coaching in the months leading up to the trip. Tailored coaching packages through our partner Tenac Championship Coaching will be offered during and after booking.

How do you handle guests with varying levels of fitness?

We have the highest ratio of staff to guests of any cycling travel company. We frequently break into smaller groups led by a guide cycling with you, or a mechanic in a follow car with spare wheels, cold bidons, or tasty homemade riding snacks.

What ride support do you offer?

We have a minimum of two guides riding with you on the bike. We also have at least one (but frequently two) follow cars driven by professional mechancis who will swap your wheel if you get a flat. On many trips we also attach road sign markers in advance so that you don’t need to rely on your Garmin computer (provided) to give you directions.

Can I bring my own bike?

Yes, you can bring your own bike. However, our guests are always impressed by the Pinarello F12 Disk and many frequently purchase them and take them home at the end of the trip.

How do you make sure the bike fits?

We will set up your bike according to the measurements you give us in our custom bike fit form. If you would like to provide additional information regarding your fit we encourage you to email additional details.

Do you have different kinds of pedals?

We have some of the standard types, but we recommend you bring your own so that the adjustment is consistent with what you use at home.

What saddle should I choose? Should I bring my own?

We provide a range of Selle Italia saddles to accommodate different needs. You can find more information about their different models, and how to choose the right one for you, here. Having a comfortable saddle is one of the most important things that can make your experience great, or not so awesome. If you are concerned about being as comfortable on the bike as possible we encourage you to bring your own saddle from home.

Do you have riding shoes?

No. We do not provide or have shoes available. Proper shoe fit, cleat setup and correct cleat for the pedals being used are critical. Please bring your riding shoes with you.

How does the Castelli clothing fit?

Castelli’s clothing is considered “race-cut” or “European-cut”. It contours to the shape of your body. If you are unsure about your sizing, don’t worry, we always have extras to swap in case something doesn’t fit on the first try.
