It is safe to say that few people have done more of our trips than inGamba’s own Katie Bolling. To date, she has participated in over 35 trips with nearly 20 different itineraries. But when she went to Croatia on her last trip, the new inGamba destination captured her heart, and instantly became one of her favorites. Here are just a few of her top memories and images.
Small cobblestone villages, post-ride swims in the sea, hilltop castles and the colors of Rovinj: These are just a few of the snapshots of moments that I took home from the inGamba Croatia trip. Couple those visions with stunning rides, long tables full of friends, coffee stops overlooking the Adriatic Sea, sweeping views of the countryside and hotel rooms with open windows overlooking vineyards or a seaside esplanade, and you begin to get an even better picture of what this trip offers.
These are the memories that I carry with me from Croatia.
What made the trip even more special was that I felt it went well beyond the main destinations that might be highlighted in a Croatian guidebook. Take Pula, for example: It is the city we fly in and out of on our inGamba trip. But even from the skies above, you can see the Roman arena, one of the best-preserved amphitheaters in the world. I certainly didn’t expect that! But it is just one of the many jewels found on the trip.
Walks along the promenade in Rovinj turned into adventures as we explored the narrow alleyways that filled the old town. One of our daily rides included long stretches through olive orchards, vineyards and the occasional picturesque farmhouse. A coffee stop delighted with a maze-like loop through a hidden village. And, two rides concluded with dips in the Adriatic sea… beer in hand, of course.
So, I’m sending you this postcard from the Istrean peninsula to encourage you to add our Croatia trip to your bucket list. Keep “everywhere” on your list…but first make a stop in Croatia!
