I’m not an avid cyclist. In fact, I got a beautiful bike as a birthday present last June, and prior to my experience with inGamba, I had only ridden in the south of the Netherlands, where I live.

As soon as I arrived at Lecchi, however, I knew it was going to be special. The beautiful little village of Lecchi looks like a romantic Italian film scene; the warm welcome we received from the girls and boys of inGamba immediately made us feel very welcome, and the first dinner at Paolo’s place was magnificent.

All my worries were gone as soon as we started riding. Normal life back in the Netherlands was completely out of my mind, the pandemic of the last two years was far away, and everything just felt really good.

We cycled through the rolling hills of Chianti, joyfully guided by Eros and Giorgio. We had the tireless support of the mechanics at all times, and their van was never far, filled with gear and supplies. At the end of each ride, a really amazing lunch with salads and pastas, and a massage, made us feel reborn.

The only problem was that the days went by way too fast. The combination of good company (our friends and staff blended perfectly), the great food, terrific wines and the beautiful environment was just perfect.

And the cycling? Each day, I enjoyed it more and more. By the end of the week, I truly fell in love with riding bikes. I love the way you can explore a region on two wheels, nothing else gives you the same sensations.

So thank you very much inGamba family for this wonderful and amazing week. You really made me fall in love with cycling!”

JOINING THE INGAMBA FAMILY

As a lover of cycling, food, drink, and culture, I had long been dreaming of joining an inGamba trip. And I’m happy to report that some dreams actually do come true!

During the whole trip, everything — and I mean everything — was taken care of by the tremendous inGamba staff. Before I even realized that I needed something, it had already been taken care of. The attention to detail was incredible.

The same goes for the guides, Giorgio and Eros who, with their great stories on and off the bike, ensured that we not only had a lot of fun, but also learned a thing or two about the Italian language, culture and history. They really showed us the real Tuscany, and we saw Italy from a totally different perspective, experiencing the tastes and sounds and history of this beautiful country from their point of view.

It was all in all an unforgettable experience with a fantastic group of people. I now know what they mean when they say that inGamba is a family. Hopefully, I’ll return someday soon to see all of my inGamba relatives again!
