Lead Guide
Handmade orecchiette with turnip greens, burrata straight from the local caseificio, oven-baked focaccia barese, fresh Adriatic seafood, taralli by the basketful, and olive oil pressed from groves you’ll ride straight through.
Primitivo and Negroamaro from the Salento plain, Salice Salentino, Bombino Nero rosato, and an espresso (or an Aperol Spritz) on a piazza in the White City.
The Heel of Italy’s Boot
Puglia, the heel of Italy’s boot, is an enchanting region of medieval hilltop villages and whitewashed towns, where the landscape rolls through vineyards and olive groves toward mile after mile of pristine coastline along the blue Adriatic Sea.
It has long been a favorite of Italians chasing sand and sunshine, and not just for the beaches. The country’s culinary cognoscenti rank Puglia among the very best places to eat in the Bel Paese, a claim no one makes lightly. Local produce is the star here, from just-caught seafood to greens picked that morning, and you won’t find better raw ingredients anywhere in Italy. As for the wine, whether it’s Salice Salentino, Negroamaro, Primitivo or Bombino Nero, there’s a world of flavor waiting to be discovered.
For 2027, we’ve reworked the week around two exceptional bases. The first three nights are spent at Bianco Riccio, a five-star suite hotel overlooking the Adriatic in the fishing village of Savelletri, the perfect springboard for our rides through the Valle d’Itria and out to Ostuni. From there we head inland to Matera, the world’s third-oldest continuously inhabited city, where we settle into Sant’Angelo, a hotel built directly into the ancient cave dwellings of the Sassi, for our final three nights.
The riding is as varied as the region itself: easy spinning through olive groves, a climb up onto the Puglian plateau, and a push into the Terra delle Gravine toward Matera’s cave-carved skyline. There won’t be a dull moment in this unforgettable week.

Your Week In Italy
BEACH TEST RIDE - SHAKE DOWN
Benvenuti in Puglia! We'll begin with some gentle rolling through the olive groves that characterize so much of this landscape, hugging the Adriatic coast near Savelletri. This is the best time to make sure everything on your bike is perfect, so if you'd like something changed, have a chat with your mechanic before the real riding begins.
ALBEROBELLO
This area is called the Valle d'Itria, known widely as the Valley of the Trulli, after the iconic conical stone dwellings that dot the landscape. The route takes us along a plateau around 400 meters above sea level, offering up stunning views before we reach Alberobello, one of the most beautiful towns in Italy.
3. OSTUNI, LA CITTÀ BIANCA
More climbing to begin with today, working our way up through vineyards and olive groves until we're on top of the Puglian plateau, where the terrain turns undulating. The finish line is another gorgeous town: Ostuni, known as the White City. Cycling history buffs might remember it as the scene of Freddy Maertens' first world championship victory back in 1976.
MATERA
Today we say goodbye to the Adriatic and climb our way into the Natural Park Terra delle Gravine, en route to Matera, the world's third-oldest continuously inhabited city and the first UNESCO site in Southern Italy (pipping even Pompeii). We'll transfer hotels tonight, settling into Sant'Angelo, a hotel carved directly into the ancient cave dwellings of the Sassi, for our final three nights.
MONTESCAGLIOSO
In this loop, we'll climb to Montescaglioso, a small picturesque town atop a hill that was once the center of a county in the Norman Kingdom of Sicily. In between, expect Puglian plains and fields of olive trees.
PONTE DI GRAVINA
On our last ride day, pace yourself early, because there's plenty of climbing throughout the route. We start downhill and flat as we leave Matera, pass by the untouched forest of Selva di Serro Pizzuto, then climb toward the town of Gravina in Puglia before our last stretch back to Matera.
Departure - The Last Day
This is our final morning together and after a leisurely breakfast, it will be time to say goodbye, or at least arrivederci, until we meet again. Transfers to the airport will be arranged by our hard-working crew but if you’re planning on staying a few extra days, let us know if we can help with reservations or a few recommendations.
The Storyteller
You may hear sweet clarinet notes wafting toward your window at Borgolecchi, as our resident aristocrat practises his newfound love. We’re never quite sure if all of his stories are based in reality, but they are without doubt highly entertaining.
Giorgio is a supportive presence, encouraging you during challenging climbs and joining you in races if you’re up for it. His philosophy revolves around embracing life to the fullest and seizing every moment.
”"We're specifically trying to give our guests the closest experience of what it means to be in a pro team, at any speed."
A literal WorldTour service.
With years of experience in the professional peloton, our mechanics and soigneurs bring WorldTour-level care to every detail of your ride. Up to five mechanics work meticulously each day to ensure your Pinarello is perfectly tuned and adjusted for you alone—not just race-ready, but dialed to your precise preferences. Meanwhile, our soigneurs draw on their own experience as professional riders to anticipate your needs before you voice them: bottles filled and positioned exactly right, ride food prepared and timed to fuel you through the hardest climbs, post-ride massages that ease tired muscles, and the kind of quiet, confident support that prepares you mentally and physically for whatever the road brings next. This is the care that once belonged only to the pros. With inGamba, it’s yours.

Am I fast enough?
Don't worry, this is our most asked question...
Guests of inGamba are passionate cyclists who love the sport and the lifestyle that surrounds it. Most of our community are experienced riders of all ages and various abilities, who appreciate great roads, fine food, and unforgettable company.
While everyone enjoys a challenge, no one’s chasing a pro contract here. Instead, the focus is on sharing incredible rides at a comfortable pace, soaking in the scenery, and enjoying the journey. You’ll find more “middle of the pack” and “social” riders than hard chargers at the front, and with our exceptional staff-to-guest ratio, every rider is fully supported, no matter their speed or style.
