Lead Guide
Pizzoccheri della Valtellina, bresaola cured in mountain air, casoncelli pasta with sage butter, polenta taragna with local cheese, grilled lake fish fresh from Garda and Iseo.
Valtellina Superiore from the terraced vineyards above the valley, Lugana whites from the southern shores of Lake Garda, Franciacorta sparkling wine from the hills above Lake Iseo, grappa distilled in the alpine tradition.
A Road to the Roof of Italy.
Have you ever wanted to test yourself against the most famous mountains in cycling? The Gavia and the Stelvio are climbs that have defined the Giro d’Italia and forged the reputations of the greatest riders in the sport. This is your chance to find out what they feel like beneath your wheels.
This corner of northern Italy is unlike anywhere else. You’ll start among the vineyards and glassy waters of Lake Iseo, in the heart of Franciacorta, before the roads tilt upward into the high alpine terrain around Bormio. It’s a landscape that rewards every meter of climbing with something worth seeing, from the shores of Lago d’Endine to the still waters of Lago di Cancano.
Over six days of riding, you’ll take on iconic ascents and discover hidden gems known only to those in the know. The week builds deliberately, saving its biggest test for last, culminating in a Queen Stage on the Stelvio that you’ll be talking about for years. Through all of it, the inGamba team will be right alongside you: guides, mechanics, and soigneurs dedicated to making sure you ride at your best, every single day.
This is Italy at its most dramatic. Come ready to climb.

Your Week In Italy
Provaglio d'Iseo - SHAKE DOWN
Benvenuti in Italia! There's no such thing as a flat ride on this trip, but this opening stage is a gentle introduction to the area, enough to shake out the legs and make sure your bike is dialed in perfectly. Rolling through the Franciacorta hills above Lake Iseo, you'll get your first taste of the vineyards and glassy water that define this corner of Lombardy. If something isn't quite right with the bike, this is the day to work it out with your mechanic.
Lago d'Endine
The legs go to work today. Climbing away from Lake Iseo into the Val Cavallina, you'll reach the quiet, reed-lined shores of Lago d'Endine, a world away from the bigger lakes nearby. It's the longest climbing day before the Alps, a proper test that sets the tone for the mountains still to come.
Lake Iseo Loop
A well-earned change of pace. According to popular legend, Leonardo da Vinci stayed on the shores of Lake Iseo between 1499 and 1500, and some art critics argue that the mountains surrounding the lake appear in the background of the Mona Lisa. Today you'll explore them by bike at a more contemplative rhythm, taking in the scenery after the exertions of the previous day.
Passo Gavia
One of the most legendary climbs in all of cycling. The famous image of Andy Hampsten riding through a blizzard in ski goggles on his way to winning the 1988 Giro d'Italia captures everything the Gavia demands. The ascent gains over 1,300m to a summit at 2,620m, not including the valley approach, which adds considerable elevation before the real climbing even begins. There's a well-earned panino waiting at the top.
Lago di Cancano
A shorter day, but no less spectacular. The road up to Lago di Cancano and Lago di San Giacomo winds through the Stelvio National Park, with turquoise reservoir water set against a backdrop of high peaks. It's a chance to recover the legs a little before tomorrow's Queen Stage, without giving up an inch of scenery.
Passo dello Stelvio
This is the Queen Stage. At 94 kilometers and 3,363 meters of climbing, everything you've built over the week comes into play. Starting in Bormio, the eastern ascent of the Stelvio climbs through 48 hairpins to reach Italy's highest paved road at 2,758m. This is the Stelvio at its most complete.
Departure - The Last Day
This is our final morning together and after a leisurely breakfast, it will be time to say goodbye, or at least arrivederci, until we meet again. Transfers to the airport will be arranged by our hard-working crew but if you’re planning on staying a few extra days, let us know if we can help with reservations or a few recommendations.
Sancho da Cruz
Sancho had a late start to cycling, but he has been very passionate about bikes ever since. His love for the sport even made him change career paths to race professionally — until, oh, the pandemic. Covid saw him go back to school; he became one of our guides after interviewing João for his master’s final thesis on Active Tourism. Today, he is more than happy to share his passion for the sport with you, helping you on and off the bike, whether your goal is to go full gas or simply take it easy and make the most of the scenery.
”"We're specifically trying to give our guests the closest experience of what it means to be in a pro team, at any speed."
A literal WorldTour service.
With years of experience in the professional peloton, our mechanics and soigneurs bring WorldTour-level care to every detail of your ride. Up to five mechanics work meticulously each day to ensure your Pinarello is perfectly tuned and adjusted for you alone—not just race-ready, but dialed to your precise preferences. Meanwhile, our soigneurs draw on their own experience as professional riders to anticipate your needs before you voice them: bottles filled and positioned exactly right, ride food prepared and timed to fuel you through the hardest climbs, post-ride massages that ease tired muscles, and the kind of quiet, confident support that prepares you mentally and physically for whatever the road brings next. This is the care that once belonged only to the pros. With inGamba, it’s yours.

Am I fast enough?
Don't worry, this is our most asked question...
Guests of inGamba are passionate cyclists who love the sport and the lifestyle that surrounds it. Most of our community are experienced riders of all ages and various abilities, who appreciate great roads, fine food, and unforgettable company.
While everyone enjoys a challenge, no one’s chasing a pro contract here. Instead, the focus is on sharing incredible rides at a comfortable pace, soaking in the scenery, and enjoying the journey. You’ll find more “middle of the pack” and “social” riders than hard chargers at the front, and with our exceptional staff-to-guest ratio, every rider is fully supported, no matter their speed or style.
