ABOUT THIS TRIP
Join us in Tuscany for a special trip! We will explore the region’s dusty backroads with Ben Delaney, who was behind one of the most prominent cycling magazines in the world—VeloNews—and is now a prominent figure in the gravel cycling world as a YouTuber.
Ben, based in Colorado, spends much of his year chasing the best in gravel: the best races and bikes. His decades in the cycling industry mean that he not only has witnessed the evolution of the sport, but also knows the best tech options and can distinguish them from mere marketing hype.
With Ben, we will ride the famous Strade Bianche and weave through the Tuscan countryside. These roads are often unnoticed by most travelers but are treasured by those in the know. The region features undulating expanses of ochre and olive in every direction, with crumbling stone walls, cypress-lined narrow strips of powdery gravel, climbs that bask in the sun, exposed hilltops, and twisting descents through vineyards. In short, these backroads are the best way to explore this stunning part of Italy.
We have considered Chianti our home for years, and this trip combines the very best gravel roads we know with some of our all-time favourite routes in Tuscany, giving you the best of both worlds in one truly unforgettable package.

OUR GUIDE — Ben Delaney
We are excited to announce that Ben Delaney, a highly respected figure in cycling journalism, will be our guide.
Ben has had a diverse career in the cycling industry, having held roles such as editorial director, editor-in-chief, reporter, and video anchor at various outlets including VeloNews, Cyclingnews, BikeRadar, Outside, Cyclingtips, Cycling Weekly, and Cyclist.
He has also appeared on TV as a cycling expert, featuring on networks like CNN and local news channels. Recently, Ben launched his own YouTube channel called The Ride, where he reviews bikes and gear, often in the context of events. He has tested hundreds of bikes and has particularly enjoyed reviewing gravel bikes in races such as Unbound Gravel, Belgian Waffle Ride, and SBT GRVL, where he has occasionally placed in the “old-guy” category.
Reflecting on his experiences with inGamba, Ben said, “I have been lucky enough to ride bikes around the world, and doing the inGamba N2 trip across Portugal ranks as an all time adventure for me! Sancho had a late start to cycling, but he has been very passionate about bikes ever since. His love for the sport even made him change career paths to race professionally — until, oh, the pandemic. Covid saw him go back to school; he became one of our guides after interviewing João for his masters final thesis on Active Tourism. Today, he is more than happy to share his passion for the sport with you, helping you on and off the bike, whether your goal is to go full gas or simply take it easy and make the most of the scenery.

At inGamba, five mechanics work meticulously and calmly to tune and adjust our fleet of Pinarello Dogma F’s. They fine-tune saddle heights, clean the bikes, and make necessary last-minute adjustments every day.
Similarly, the soigneurs are like wizards, using their experience as professional riders to attend to your needs and prepare you for each day’s challenges. From filling bottles to preparing ride food, they ensure you are well taken care of, providing massages to ease sore muscles and preparing you for the ride ahead.
