About This Trip

inGamba, Andante

Adante; the musical term for “at a walking pace.”

Unhurried Tuscany is our Chianti Classico experience, dialed back a gear. Same roads, same Borgolecchi, same Giro del Barone shakedown that starts every trip here, but with the throttle eased off so there’s real time to look up, pull over, and talk.

This is Chianti for riders who’d rather arrive at 4:30 with a full memory card than arrive at 2:00 with none. The days are shorter, the coffee stops are longer, and the guides know exactly which ridge to stop on for the light. You’ll still climb, Chianti doesn’t let you avoid that, but the pace leaves room for the parts of a trip that don’t show up on a route file: the conversation with the rider next to you, the shopkeeper in Volpaia who remembers your name by day three, the extra ten minutes on the wall above Castellina because nobody’s in a hurry to leave.

It’s the same Mangia, Beve, Bici philosophy our founder João Correia built inGamba on, just given more room to breathe.

Travelling with a Non-Rider?

Borgolecchi is a destination in itself. Non-riding companions can enjoy a full programme of cultural experiences, relaxation, and Tuscan exploration while you’re on the bike.

Your Week In Tuscany

Benvenuti in Italia! We keep the first ride short and easy on purpose, heading south through the quiet Chianti countryside before looping back north past the stunning Castello di Brolio and finishing on the home climb into Lecchi. It's the perfect shakedown, plenty of time to settle in, get the bike dialed, and meet the group over aperitivo before dinner.

Standard Route
26km · 440m ↑

A longer loop today, but still an easy-rolling one, skirting the edge of the Crete Senesi where the Chianti hills start to give way to the wide clay ridgelines further south. We'll stop for coffee in Castelnuovo Berardenga, no rush, before rolling back to Borgolecchi for lunch and an afternoon massage.

Breakfast Lunch Dinner

One of Chianti's prettiest routes, tracing the ridge between the abbey at Badia Coltibuono and the fortified hilltop village of Volpaia. We'll pause for coffee in the center of Gaiole before a leisurely lunch at Paola's, Bar UCCI in Volpaia, one of our favorite unhurried lunch stops in the region. Dinner tonight is a short drive out to Le Panzanelle, a countryside trattoria worth every minute of the trip.

Breakfast Lunch Dinner

The shortest ride of the week, a gentle spin out to Castello di Brolio and back, built entirely around conversation and the view. In the afternoon, choose your own adventure: a guided walking tour of Siena's medieval streets and the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, or a massage and quiet afternoon at Borgolecchi. No aperitivo tonight, we'll save the energy for the days ahead.

Breakfast Lunch Dinner

The longest ride of the week, run in reverse for a fresh perspective on familiar roads. Coffee at Quercegrossa, then a relaxed lunch at Inn Piazza in Castellina in Chianti with a visit to the Rocca, the town's medieval castle. Tonight is one of the highlights of the trip: an aperitif and wine tasting at Ama Enoteca, followed by dinner at the storied Castello di Ama.

Breakfast Lunch Dinner

The biggest climbing day of the week, but still spun out at a pace built for photos, not personal bests. Coffee in the center of Castelnuovo di Berardenga, then back to Borgolecchi for a later, relaxed lunch and one last afternoon massage before our final dinner together.

Breakfast Lunch Dinner

This is our final morning together and after a leisurely breakfast, it will be time to say goodbye, or at least arrivederci, until we meet again. Transfers to the airport will be arranged by our hard-working crew but if you’re planning on staying a few extra days, let us know if we can help with reservations or a few recommendations.

Giorgio Valvassori

The Storyteller

You may hear sweet clarinet notes wafting toward your window at Borgolecchi, as our resident aristocrat practises his newfound love. We’re never quite sure if all of his stories are based in reality, but they are without doubt highly entertaining.

Giorgio is a supportive presence, encouraging you during challenging climbs and joining you in races if you’re up for it. His philosophy revolves around embracing life to the fullest and seizing every moment.

@giorgiovalvassori

"We're specifically trying to give our guests the closest experience of what it means to be in a pro team, at any speed."

The Pro Experience

A literal WorldTour service.

With years of experience in the professional peloton, our mechanics and soigneurs bring WorldTour-level care to every detail of your ride. Up to five mechanics work meticulously each day to ensure your Pinarello is perfectly tuned and adjusted for you alone—not just race-ready, but dialed to your precise preferences. Meanwhile, our soigneurs draw on their own experience as professional riders to anticipate your needs before you voice them: bottles filled and positioned exactly right, ride food prepared and timed to fuel you through the hardest climbs, post-ride massages that ease tired muscles, and the kind of quiet, confident support that prepares you mentally and physically for whatever the road brings next. This is the care that once belonged only to the pros. With inGamba, it’s yours.

FAQs

Am I fast enough?

Don't worry, this is our most asked question...

Guests of inGamba are passionate cyclists who love the sport and the lifestyle that surrounds it. Most of our community are experienced riders of all ages and various abilities, who appreciate great roads, fine food, and unforgettable company.

While everyone enjoys a challenge, no one’s chasing a pro contract here. Instead, the focus is on sharing incredible rides at a comfortable pace, soaking in the scenery, and enjoying the journey. You’ll find more “middle of the pack” and “social” riders than hard chargers at the front, and with our exceptional staff-to-guest ratio, every rider is fully supported, no matter their speed or style.
