The climbs speak for themselves. The Telegraph and the Galibier arrive back to back on a single, monumental day, packed with over 2,300 meters of climbing that finishes atop one of the true giants of the sport, with views from the summit so vast they reframe everything you thought you knew about scale. The Col d’Izoard is something else entirely. Its upper slopes dissolve into the Casse Déserte, a lunar-like landscape of eroded rock towers, set it apart from all other climbs. And then there is l’Alpe d’Huez, which needs no introduction. Its 21 hairpins rise above the valley in a climb so loaded with history that every pedal stroke carries the weight of the sport itself.

Lead Guide
Tartiflette straight from the mountain kitchens, reblochon and beaufort cheese from valley farms, charcuterie cured in the high villages, fresh trout from alpine streams, gratin dauphinois done properly, tarte aux myrtilles with berries picked from the hillsides.
Wines from the northern Rhône close enough to feel local, génépi poured after dinner in the old mountain tradition, espresso at altitude before the big days, local craft beer in Briançon’s old town, hot chocolate at the summit cafés on the climbs.
France’s Greatest Stage
The French Alps are cycling’s spiritual home. These are the mountains that forged the Tour de France into the race the world knows, where the greatest riders in history have suffered, triumphed, and become immortal. But beyond the mythology, this is also one of the most spectacular corners of Europe, a region of extraordinary natural beauty, deep culinary tradition, and a way of life that moves at exactly the right pace. A week here on a bike is not just a cycling trip. It is an immersion.
Between the climbing, the region rewards in equal measure. The week begins gently at Lake Annecy, ringed by peaks and shimmering in almost impossible shades of blue and green, where two nights at the Rivage Hotel & Spa set the tone with lakeside dining and proper recovery before the real climbing begins. From there, four nights at the Caserne de Briançon put you in the heart of the high mountains, with an easier spin out to the village of Névache built in to let the legs recover between the week’s biggest days. The food throughout this region is serious, mountain cooking with real depth, savoury tartiflette, charcuterie from the valley farms, and wine from the northern Rhône close enough to feel local.
Guided, supported, and looked after in full inGamba style, this is the French Alps done properly. The great climbs, the great scenery, and everything that makes this corner of France one of the finest places on earth to ride a bike.

Your Week In France
Lake Annecy - SHAKE DOWN
Bienvenue en France! Our week begins with a gentle loop around Lake Annecy, the perfect way to settle in after travel. The route hugs the shoreline beneath the surrounding peaks, with barely a ramp in sight. This is the time to make adjustments to your bike fit, so if something isn't quite right please talk to one of the mechanics.
Col de la Forclaz
Today brings the first proper climb of the trip. Col de la Forclaz winds up through forest and pasture, rewarding the effort with a café stop at the top and sweeping views back down over the lake. A fitting first test for the legs before the bigger mountains arrive later in the week.
Telegraph & Galibier
This is the day we have been building toward. The Telegraph and the Galibier arrive back to back, one of the most celebrated combinations in all of cycling. The Telegraph alone would be a significant climb anywhere else, but here it is merely the warm-up for the Galibier, which crests above 2,600 meters with views that make every pedal stroke worth it.
Névache
A lighter day, and a deliberate one. After yesterday's effort, we head out to the quiet village of Névache, a chance to spin the legs, enjoy the scenery at a gentler pace, and explore Briançon's old town before the road gets serious again.
Col d'Izoard
Col d'Izoard is unlike anything else in the Alps. The lower slopes climb through forest before opening onto the Casse Déserte, a haunting, lunar landscape of eroded rock towers and bare scree that stops riders in their tracks every time they see it.
l'Alpe d'Huez
Our final day, and the one every cyclist already knows. Twenty-one hairpins climb above the valley to the summit of l'Alpe d'Huez, a name woven into the history of the sport. Lunch awaits at the top before we head back down by car, the perfect close to a week in the mountains.
Departure - The Last Day
This is our final morning together and after a leisurely breakfast, it will be time to say goodbye, or at least arrivederci, until we meet again. Transfers to the airport will be arranged by our hard-working crew but if you’re planning on staying a few extra days, let us know if we can help with reservations or a few recommendations.
The Champion
The night before Eros Poli took victory atop Mont Ventoux he couldn’t sleep. It was not like he was dreaming of victory or even had the slightest idea the next day’s stage would change his life forever. It was just that it was hot. Unbearably, unsleepably hot in his less than stellar French hotel. His roommate had taken his mattress off the bed and was sleeping on the small balcony outside their room. And the man who would shortly become known as Monsieur Ventoux was watching football, Italy vs. Brazil in the World Cup final, to be exact. Italy lost.
The following morning as Eros dragged his weary, tired legs out of bed and down the stairs, as there was no lift, James Brown came into his head. “I feel good, I knew that I would now,” he started to repeat over and over in his head. As it would the rest of the day. He felt good, and the rest, as they say, is history.
”"We're specifically trying to give our guests the closest experience of what it means to be in a pro team, at any speed."
A literal WorldTour service.
With years of experience in the professional peloton, our mechanics and soigneurs bring WorldTour-level care to every detail of your ride. Up to five mechanics work meticulously each day to ensure your Pinarello is perfectly tuned and adjusted for you alone—not just race-ready, but dialed to your precise preferences. Meanwhile, our soigneurs draw on their own experience as professional riders to anticipate your needs before you voice them: bottles filled and positioned exactly right, ride food prepared and timed to fuel you through the hardest climbs, post-ride massages that ease tired muscles, and the kind of quiet, confident support that prepares you mentally and physically for whatever the road brings next. This is the care that once belonged only to the pros. With inGamba, it’s yours.

Am I fast enough?
Don't worry, this is our most asked question...
Guests of inGamba are passionate cyclists who love the sport and the lifestyle that surrounds it. Most of our community are experienced riders of all ages and various abilities, who appreciate great roads, fine food, and unforgettable company.
While everyone enjoys a challenge, no one’s chasing a pro contract here. Instead, the focus is on sharing incredible rides at a comfortable pace, soaking in the scenery, and enjoying the journey. You’ll find more “middle of the pack” and “social” riders than hard chargers at the front, and with our exceptional staff-to-guest ratio, every rider is fully supported, no matter their speed or style.
