There is a sense of homecoming with every inGamba trip to Portugal. After all, this is the country many of our staff call home. And with that homecoming comes a deep sense of pride.
While our first 2026 Portugal trips are already underway, there is something especially magical about autumn. Summer lingers a little longer here, with warm days, golden light, and ideal riding conditions. It’s why our Northern Portugal and Alentejo trips have become two of our most sought-after experiences. Places are filling quickly, but a few spots remain on both departures.
“The staff is always so happy to do a trip in Portugal,” says former Portuguese national champion Manuel Cardoso. “We know all the places, all the hotels, all the roads. We are truly in the know.”
That local knowledge is what makes these journeys so unique. Rather than following familiar tourist routes, inGamba takes guests deeper into Portugal — to places that remain largely undiscovered.
“The beauty of our Portugal trips is that we are taking people to discover parts of Portugal that no one else knows,” says Cardoso. “These are not where the tour groups go. In many ways it is undiscovered territory.”
For Northern Portugal, the connection is especially personal.
“This is where Rui (i.e former Tour of Portugal winner Rui Vinhas) and I come from. We trained here. We raced here. We know the roads and the towns like the back of our hand,” says Cardoso. “There is always a certain amount of pride whenever we bring a group here. It is really special to be able to share these experiences because most people would never find these places without us.”
The same feeling extends south to Alentejo.
“Paolo and Sergio (i.e. Paolo Crispim and Olympic silver medalist Sergio Paulinho) really know Alentejo. It’s their backyard.”
For our team, Portugal is more than a destination. It’s home. And there is nothing we enjoy more than sharing it. Consider joining us this Autumn.
