This Mangia, Bevi, Bici Wine Country trip has all of the great elements an inGamba trip is known for — abundant riding through incredible countryside, world-class dining, and great wine — with one unique, important addtion at the tail end: Levi’s Granfondo.
Granfondos are finally becoming the rage in the United States. One stands above the rest in popularity, and that’s the one hosted by Levi Leipheimer. The riding is demanding, the scenery breathtaking, the atmosphere and camaraderie inspiring. And with the special access and premium access and treatment provided by inGamba, you’ll discover for yourself just why so many people have fallen in love with this ride, while avoiding the hassles inherent in such crowded events.
Before we line up for this amazing ride, we’ll spend a week riding, wining and dining through some of the lesser-traveled parts of Northern California.
We start in Healdsburg and venture north into Mendocino County, along the way staying at undiscovered gems such as Vichy Hot Springs. We continue our ride through rugged coastal mountains and beautiful redwood groves to the Mendocino Coast. Small as they may be, the towns of Mendocino and Sea Ranch, our overnight stops, have incredible food and world-class local wines. We head back inland over the coastal mountains to overnight in Healdsburg and St. Helena. Be ready to challenge yourself on some of the most famous climbs in Northern California, including Trinity Grade and Sonoma Mountain.
Numerous pro cyclists join Levi for his Granfondo, as they wind down their season. Given our relationships and inside access, expect a few of these pros to join us on the ride, and to share some great food and wine with us as we prepare for the final day’s challenging Granfondo in our own special way.
